Writing 17: Film piracy

When someone wants to see a film, he usually goes to the cinema or see what's on TV. But sometimes we can't find the film we want, and many people download films, even if they know they're breaking the law.

Most of the times people will have to pay to watch a film legally. A lot of workers are needed to make a film. The money they earn is the money people spend buying them or going to the cinema to watch it, so, if we don't pay to watch a film, they don't earn money. In addition, there are estimated 146 millions visits every day to just 43 of the world's digital piracy sites.

In the last few years, we have known about some platforms to watch films and series, like Netflix, HBO and Amazon Prime Video. These platforms make you pay a small amount of money to watch films legally. A survey in Norway has shown that three quarters of internet users prefer to pay this small amount of money and watch films legally.

In conclusion, it is said that people prefer to download films illegally, but mostly prefer to pay. Reports suggest that, because of these platforms the piracy is decreasing

Digital money, a good option to invest?

Lately the ways of paying have changed. The most common way of paying is cash, which is mainly used by elderly people and for small purchases. Cash contains coins and bank notes which change depending on the country. For example, in Spain and the European Union they use the euro, in the UK they use the pound and in Russia they use the Russian ruble.

Nowadays there are more ways to pay. You can use a credit card, which is very useful when you are paying a big purchase and you don't have enough cash. You can also pay by PayPal when you are doing an online purchase. Recently we can also pay something with our mobile phones with an app and you can use it as a credit card.

Recently we can see a new way of paying: bitcoins. These coins are digital coins that you buy with real money and whose value goes up and down. You can buy things with these coins, but the main purpose of people who buy these coins is wait for the price to go up and down and sell them to earn money.

In my opinion, money is evolving with technology and we have to adapt to the new ways of paying. I think these ways of paying will evolve and in the future cash will dusappear. I also think that bitcoins are a good option for those people who know when to sell them because if you don't sell them for a higher prize, you will lose a lot of money

Cyberbullying

Cyberbullying is the bullying to someone using mainly social media like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or even Whatsapp. The bully uses text messages, photos or videos to humiliate or insult someone. Cybervullying happens most of the time between classmates, but the ones who suffer cyberbullying don't always syffer physical bullying.

The bully is usually someone with low self-esteem, who only feel goos when he harm other people. These people don't think about the consequences. They also think thay they will be inmune to the law because they think that the things they say are anonymus.

People who suffer cyberbullying think that they are helpless and they feel like they are being watched by the bullies all the time. Another fact is that cyberbullying happens out of the school's walls. People who insult other using social media can insult them from school, from home or from the coffee shop.

People who suffer cyberbullying often leave social media and feel uncomfortable when they are using them. They become very nervous when they receive a notification on their mobile phones and they avoid meeting their friends, going to school or even getting out from their homes.

I think cyberbullying is a serious problem.  In my opinion, schools don't tell you what it is and how to avoid it and they don't report the cases they know. When they findo out a case, they avoid to suspend the bully because they think that the school will be known for the cyberbullying cases, so most of the time is the one who suffers cyberbullying who leaves that school. I think this must change and we have to fight agnaist cyberbullying.

Pirates of the web

I have Spotify, so I play music on this platform or I play it on Youtube. I don't use to buy any cd's. I rarely download music because I think Spotify is better. I only download music from the internet when I want to put it as ringtone. I think music piracy is a crime because singers and musicians earn money from the cd's and songs that people buy legally and from streaming on platforms ike Spotify, Youtube or Apple Music and if we download music illegally, the musicians will lose money
